The Upside Cup

The Upside Cup is a great opportunity to get your team out on the water and race MRX yachts, before finishing the afternoon at the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, home of the America's Cup.

Bring along your staff, clients, or a sailing buddy for a little competitive advantage. After racing, prize giving will take place along with a bite to eat with well-deserved refreshments; plus the opportunity to bid on and win exclusive auction items.

  • Late 2022 date TBC
  • Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, Westhaven Marina
  • Create your racing team of 6 sailors (no previous experience needed)
  • $3,300 (ex. gst) per boat; which will fund a mentoring match for 12 months
  • Book now by contacting Rachel (email / 021 675 644).

There are only 11 teams to race, so secure your boat quickly to ensure we don’t sail off without you! Please let us know if you have any questions and get in touch to join us for the 2nd Upside Cup.

Each boat is provided with a skipper and a crew member which means that any level of experience can take part, and go for the win.

The Upside Cup is able to proceed, with safety precautions in place, under the Red Traffic Light.

Relive the action from 2021

Taking part in The Upside Cup means Upside will be able to support more young people and train volunteer mentors to build life-changing mentoring relationships together.

All funds raised go to making a difference in the lives of young people through life-changing mentoring relationships. Young people are referred to Upside between 9 - 13 years old and often facing a range of adverse environmental factors at a crucial time of development in their lives. Upside connects and supports volunteer mentors in the community with young people, to make an impactful difference in their life, through having a consistent adult in their corner to support them each week.

To book your team in, contact Rachel (email or call on 021 675 644).

Please note: Vaccination passes will be required for attendees to participate in The Upside Cup 2022 (for sailing and venue-related activities) under the NZ Traffic Light system.
