Changing lives with ‘What’s up’ & ‘See you next week’. The need for change for young people is massive, Upside Youth Mentoring Aotearoa exists to help change one young life at a time with a consistent & stable mentor/adult relationship to have the most incredible positive effect. That transformative power ripples out through a whānau, through a community & generations.

Upside’s mission is to support change in Aotearoa’s young people who have adverse childhood experiences. Young people aged 9-13 are referred to Upside because they have been identified as needing a consistent adult in their life to support them through their recovery from the trauma faced in their early years.

These positive relationships are a vital step in countering the impacts of the various traumas they have lived through. Upside’s mentoring programme sees outcomes including:

• Improving educational attainment
• Improving physical health
• Improving mental health
• Avoiding child placement
• Avoiding family violence

See for yourself as 3 mentoring relationships go from complete strangers to confidantes and close friends. A journey of up's and down's, but with an undeniable positive outcome.
